Chloe and her Kitten
"Chloe and her Kitten" this was so fun to challenge myself with. Such a tender little moment between these two. The adoption shelter cautioned my daughter that this kitty may not be a good fit as she was standoffish. Boy they were wrong. Just look at the love these two have for each other!
This painting is 9×12 inches created on Pastelmat using Polychromos, Pablos, and Luminace pencils. The background has been completly altered from a boring indoor background to a bright colorful outdoor setting. I chose to keep it non descript by using a bokeh affect. This was a really fun piece to complete.

Follow Me
My first sacred piece title "Follow Me". This was surprisingly a very difficult piece to do spiritually... Hearing things like "who do you think you are to think you should draw HIS hand? " I mean it's not an invalid question... but then I felt within... I'm HIS daughter.
There are some very intentional things in the piece that occurred during creation but what surprised me the most was the ones I discovered after. For me I chose to not have Him in shiny white clothing so often depicted in our risen lord but just the soft robes instead. This feels more safe and inviting to me. The subtle folds of the robes ended up more stripe like than I had intended but then I remembered that it is in those very stripes I am healed. Those folds are all pointing up towards God the Father who gave his Son for me. As does the scar in his hand.
I hope this piece, more than any I've done, will bring you peace and joy.
